Arrival in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is beautiful! We landed around 10:30 am, collected our bags successfully after a long immigration line, found the group, made some friends and jumped on the bus to the hotel. We arrived to a bit of a confusing check-in process. (The Marathon Tours people have been a little loose from the beginning on communicating the specifics, so I’m not surprised about the confusion here, and that there’s no itinerary with times and locations.) Rooms aren’t ready yet, so we headed to find some lunch with a Swedish couple Karin and Anders.

Great people, very well traveled and interesting folks. They work for IKEA! How about that? So now we’re just waiting for our room to be ready.

We walked around the park across from the hotel. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Plaza de Liberatore San Martin. Very green and people all over the park, sitting, napping, reading, enjoying the weather which is 75-80 degrees with a lovely light breeze. The city is very green with lots of beautiful trees. It seems very European. The people are beautiful and seem very friendly as the guidebook said. The beer was delicious. Apparently there’s a group run at 4, but at the rate our room is being prepared, I won’t be able to make that. There’s supposed to be a city tour tomorrow and a welcome reception tomorrow night. Right now, I just want to lay down for a few minutes and chill. Dad is looking up a place to eat for the night. We’ve already taken a bunch of pictures.
